Well, Valynne called me on the phone and particularly instructed me to do this tag so i better do it.. Lol..
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you have to write a note with 20 random things, shortcomings, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end choose 20 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you choose them.
1) My name is Charis Kong Leng Ean, and i'm a pure chinese.
2) Currently studying one of the most demanding course, medicine, in the most demanding city in the world, Moscow. Currently studying in Moscow Medical Academy, Russia.
3) I love my family a lot. They mean so so so much to me. I always miss them when i'm in Moscow. It always seems like a part of me is missing especially when it's birthdays and Christmas and i'm not with them. My total trust is in my family and i can just tell them anything, especially my Mom, Dad n elder Brother. So gonna miss them when i go back to Moscow. Love you all so so much.
4) My longest sleeping hours? Hmm.. let me see. maybe 15 hours straight. but i think i've slept for a whole day before and just get up for meals, toilet or baths. Lol.. But i think as a medical student, you should ask me the question, longest staying awake to study hours. the answer is definetely more than 15 hours.
5) I love animals especially dogs, especially cute ones :) Check out my soft toy collection in Moscow, you'll get what i mean.. and that's not the full collection, in Malaysia still got. Haha. Everyone just knows i love dogs so much till they shower me with lotsa soft toys during special occasions.

Happy Chinese New Year!! how are all your family reunion dinners and gatherings? hope you all are having lotsa fun coz i am. hehe. i can't believe i won't be able to enjoy all this in the next 5 years. well, i'll just give a brief summary of what i've been doing in the first 2 days of CNY.
1st Day (26th January)
the highlight of the first day was the BIG family dinner gathering at my granduncle's house back at my grandpa's village in Batu Gajah, as in my dad's side. the whole BIG family, my grandpa's sibling's families and our families all gathered for makan. was really happy to see all my relatives.
there were 2 roast pigs. and they even called in the satay man and the satay was good, not to forget the fried noodles, tong yuan, ikan bakar n red bean drink.
we had family photo taking also during the dinner.
below is a photo of my grandpa with some of his siblings. my grandpa is the one with the white shirt far left. he's the eldest son in the family.
here is a photo of my grandpa with all my uncles n aunties.
with my cousins
after dinner, we took a family photo, which includes my family and my dad's sibling's families. one BIG happy family.
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!
*full update and photos will be up on the next post :)
a close friend of mine, Kenny, from Seremban came down to Ipoh to visit for 3 days 2 nites from 22nd till 24th. he stayed at my house. hehe. so basically went out lepak and makan here and there. good food wei. glorious food. ate the best fried chicken, wan tan mee, tauge chicken, all those famous food. i'm pretty sure i gain a lot of weight ady. then on 23rd, went on a one day trip to Pangkor Island, was a last minute planning at 3am at night and it really turned out to be an adventure. me, my bro David, Kenny, Jin Ee n Boky went.
things that happen today,
suddenly made me recall what had happen not long ago.
i know i should not recall them nor look back,
but sometimes, you just get reminded of it.
i know, it's partly my fault,
but i can't help but ask why did it had to happen.
why does it have to be something which means a lot to me.
i just have to learn to stay strong in faith in Him.
i believe with all my heart,
greater things are yet to come.
things happen for a reason,
they don't just happen.
continue to persevere,
and have faith and trust in God.
i know i can do it.
With God's help, i will press towards the goal..
Failure is never fatal,
failure is never final,
champions are people who never quit.
Let God turn your tombstone into a new stepping stone,
your disappointment into a new appointment,
and your stumbling blocks into building blocks.
Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)
Hi everyone.
i am home for the winter holidays plus chinese new year. it feels so good to be home. well.. here are some photos of the journey. we started our journey from Moscow n transited at Abu Dhabi International Airport for 4 hours before continue to KLIA. we took Etihad Airways. all together 10 of us 1st year's were on the same flight.
Abu Dhabi International was a new place to us as none of us hav been there before. turned out to be quite a good place. to fill the 4 hours of transit, we watched movies n took photos.. hehe.
shocked.. speechless.. lost for words.. what is happening.. what is going on..
for the past month, some Russians were particularly roaming around the street right outside my hostel here in Moscow attacking foreigners. they were identified as 3 guys who wore black jackets.
on 27th December 08 at around 6pm, a Malaysian first year medical student was hit with a beer bottle on the head. the attacker smashed a beer bottle on his head n he suffered head injuries. thank God he was ok and now is fine on getting on normally with life. i reli admired his courage and strength as he was alone at that time and he walked back to the hostel all by himself. according to him, 3 guys wearing black jackets and black caps attacked him. it all just happened right outside my hostel at the bus stop where we usually wait for bus. the danger was that near...
and today, tonite, praise God, He protected Gan, Chia Zhen and Sharon. as they were coming back walking along the street to the hostel, right at the junction which leads to our hostel, they actually encountered those 3 guys believed to be the one that is responsible for all this nonsense. Gan actually walked pass one of them and he felt weird about the guy as he was staring at the construction site right near our hostel, but at that time all was on his mind was the cold, but after walking pass the guy, he felt he needed to wait for Sharon n Chia Zhen who were behind him, and he was watchin his shadow to see if anyone was following him. and according to Chia Zhen later, the guys were staring at Gan.
as for Sharon and Chia Zhen, they encountered the 3 guys. they stared at them, followed towards their direction but both of them cross over the other side of the road and then escape by crossing back to the other side when the guys followed them to cross the road. thank God for his protection. reli thank God.
not long after them, 3 China girls and a couple walking in a group of 5 were stabbed at seperate times. apparently, one of the girls was stabbed 4 times. the attackers apparently ask them whether they were chinese and before they could say anythin, they already stabbed them. it all just happen after Gan, Sharon n Chia Zhen returned. outside the hostel was lik a crime scene with all the tape, police, ambulance.. my friends saw the aftermath.. thank God my roommate came back safely too.
everyone in my hostel Pushkin now is like all shocked at what happened. no one dare to go out. till now, i dunno what happened to them.
and apparently, last week, there was this incident that happened to a korean girl who was walking with a French girl. someone put a small grenade bomb on her winter coat hood. it exploded and caused her to bleed to death.
what's wrong with these ppl? why do they wanna do this? though i'm angry at them for doing this, but somehow, my prayer went out to them. i prayed that God will touch their lives. and also of course i did pray for protection, but somehow, my heart lead me to pray for them.
"O Lord, You know exactly what is going on, i ask that You take control. i leave it all to You. i have faith and trust that You are always with us, protecting us all the way. You brought me here to Moscow for a reason, so i believe with all my heart that You will take care of me and bring me through every problem, every situation. i trust in You and only You, in Jesus Christ Name i pray, Amen."
